JetBlue considers widebody aircraft
By IAG | July 27th, 2010 | Posted in Aviation News | 1 CommentjetBlue Airways CEO, Dave Barger, says the carrier is considering extending its network throughout the Americas; they are contemplating ordering next-generation widebody jets including the 787. Mr Barger also confirmed the carrier plans to add 10 new aircraft in 2010, followed by nine in 2011. Through 2018, the carrier is slated to take delivery of 113 aircraft.
Imagine if jetBlue decides to go this route? Already the biggest airline in NY, such a move would not only complicate its business, but certainly upset the status quo. This is not great news for the legacies. It also means the news now has to be factored into thinking at Southwest, AirTran, Virgin America and so on.
