A flight with 152 on board crashed near the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. An Airblue flight to Islamabad, via Karachi, crashed in the Margalla Hills to the north of the city. A rescue effort has been launched, but it is hampered by foggy and overcast conditions.
There have been unconfirmed reports of survivors. Some reports put the figure at five survivors, while others say up to 40. Airblue is a private airline based in Karachi which has been in operation since 2004. Its fleet of A320 and A321 aircraft fly domestically within Pakistan and to five international destinations, including Manchester.
