Glenn Martin was an American aviation pioneer. His company was absorbed into what is now called Lockheed-Martin. He retained control of his company for 40 years, hiring skilled engineers along the way. These included some who would establish their own successful aircraft companies — Donald Douglas, William Boeing, and James McDonnell among them. There is a museum named for him in Maryland worth visiting. Here are a few books we could find about the man behind the Mars.
