WiFi – no longer cool, now necessary

People who have watched with amazement at the FCC's ruling on in-flight cell phone use will appreciate this story. Shephard Group reports on a Business Traveler Survey done by Silicon.com – "20 per cent of respondents reporting they had lost business as a result of not being able to get online, compared with 18 per cent a year ago. The number of respondents saying they sometimes had difficulty getting online is also up, to 67 per cent from last year’s 60 per cent. The number reporting only rare difficulty fell – from 23 per cent to 17 per cent – while a hapless 13 per cent said they always struggled."

We are talking WiFi here. Recall the the little WiFi wars at airports around the US, where airports think they control everything in sight. Which is OK if they are offering free Wifi, mostly they don't and hate it when somebody else does.
