Hello
This note is to advise you of an opportunity for your airline or GDS to make
ancillary revenue from a project funded by the US government. You are getting
this note because you either work for a participating airline, or I have been
in touch with you during a 2007 pilot program test.
The US government agency involved is called
OTTI - this agency has
been conducting its paper-based Survey of International Air Travelers for 25
years. In 2007 we ran a pilot program using a GDS and an airline CRS to see if
the paper survey could be conducted electronically. The pilot program was a
success and the agency has agreed to set aside a portion of its project budget
for an English language only e-survey.
The prime contractor for the project is
CIC Research. They have
been running this project for over 20 years. CIC is using IAG to manage the
e-survey roll out as we worked closely on the concept and pilot program.
Here is how the project works -
There is only one catch. OTTI limited the budget for the e-survey process.
We expect to demand for this process to easily exceed the budget available - there
are 60 airlines in the survey. Therefore we encourage interested airlines, or GDS,
to make contact ASAP to enroll. Furthermore, given limited resources, we will likely
have to throttle back participant's proportion of the budget. We will try to get
everyone a share of the available funding. Assume a 1% yield on bookings for survey
generation and potential revenue.
We expect to see an increase in the e-survey budget for 2009. I have set up a
closed online community where everyone involved with this project can freely and safely
exchange information and insight of how to maximize the value proposition of this program.
If you wish to join this community, please contact me.
The online survey project has attracted attention from aviation industry
media heavyweights; ATW, TTU,
ATI and Aviation Daily.
Next steps - please contact me so that we can get you started. We only half a
year left so time is of the essence. We could you started within 10
working days. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Erkan Pinar
A note about what you're going to see. The NR means Non-resident and R means Resident.
Each respondent type will only see the questions that apply to them. On paper you miss the
interactive display seen online. But this way you get to see all th questions asked.
